The RBC Canada Cup will be a head-to-head battle between Team Canada and Team World for international bragging rights. Team Canada will be presented by PGA Tour stars Mike Weir, Graham DeLaet, and David Hearn, as well as a top Canadian player from the Web.com Tour. On June 30, Team Canada will face off in an 18-hole competition against Matt Kuchar, Gary Woodland, Trevor Immelman and a top international Web.com Tour player. There are two components: 9-hole singles matches, and 9-hole team alternate-shot matches. There will also be a 9-hole morning Pro-Am event.
DeLaet and Woodland are two of the longer ball strikers on tour, while Weir, Hearn and Kuchar are three of the most consistent. Although the RBC Canada Cup pairings are still undetermined, one thing is for certain, that fans will bear witness to an exhibition of world-class golf by top PGA TOUR and Web.com Tour professionals.
The RBC Canada Cup is part of GOLFest Nova Scotia, a week-long celebration of national pride and all things golf in Canada that will also feature a Web.com Tour event, the Nova Scotia Open, from June 29 to July 6, 2014.
